About

Lisa August Jewelry, My Story and Pride

I am the third generation in my family to be creating and producing jewelry out of Italian cellulose acetate. My family and (eventually) myself produced acetate jewelry on a grand scale and wholesaled to boutiques, department stores and did private label work for many designers for many decades in New York City-a dream began by my Grandfather, Augie in the 1960s. I started out playing with parts in the 80s on grade school vacations. In the 90s it was my summer job during my teenage years and I began designing and creative directing full time in the 2000s post college. My Mother and I became the owners and operators in the 2010s. Now I am making small batch and one of a kind pieces out of recent and vintage acetate parts, chain and my collection of findings, beads & other miscellaneous parts acquired from a lifetime of working in the jewelry industry. Every piece tells a story and was created with love.

It is an honor & a privilege to be carrying on my family's legacy & that you have chosen my jewelry to be a part of your own collection! Enjoy!
